The Miser

The Miser was my first play with Playmakers Theater in Grove, Oklahoma. Written by Moliere a long time ago, The Miser is about an old, mildly wealthy curmudgeon that wants nothing to do with his children, everything to do with a lovely young woman, and all the money he can horde. This role took a lot out of me because it was 5 acts with multiple scenes within each act and I was in all but two scenes. The payoff was incredible. I had been in a lot of plays before this one, but playing Harpagon was thrilling. I hadn't been in a play in years since I was working on a music career that was reliant on others to be successful. It turned out not to be, but that's life. I still play music, but this play got me into acting again. As with other plays that I've been in with Playmakers, the cast and crew were terrific. Daniel, Justus, Morgan, Spencer, Karon, Lori, Keith, Raven, Fred, Scott, and Sunny. With Suzanne Boles directing, it was a hit from opening night until the last performance.
